The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role within the corporate accounting team of a dynamic and fast-paced moving and logistics company. This position supports the accuracy and integrity of financial records across multiple business units, locations, and service lines. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the role contributes to core accounting functions including the monthly close process, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, and operational accounting areas such as revenue recognition, job costing, and fixed asset management.
This role operates in a high-growth, operationally complex environment and works cross-functionally with departments such as operations, payroll, accounts payable, and billing. The position supports scalable financial operations and drives continuous improvement in accounting processes to align with the company’s continued expansion.
Posting Payroll, Payroll Taxes and Payroll Taxes Liabilities to General Ledger
Responsible for proactive identification and resolution of any issues or reconciling items related to general ledger balance sheet accounts
Internal Audit – Job Checks, Labor Review, Cost Analysis and Bottom-Line Enhancement
Assists Department Heads with financial reporting and job costing for their department
Assist with Financial Reporting & Analysis and the month-end and year-end close
Involved in financial audit preparation
Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation reports
Improve workflows and efficiencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
+3 years of accounting experience (public or corporate) preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Proactive with high attention to detail
Strong understanding of GAAP
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
CPA or progress towards CPA is a plus
