Overview

Vice President of Business Development shall be responsible for identifying and pursuing new office and industrial (O&I) moving, storage and logistics business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth for the company.  You will oversee all aspects of business development activities, including market research, lead generation, proposal development, and contract negotiation, while collaborating closely with various departments to execute the overall growth strategy for JK Moving. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan aligned with company and professional goals
    • Identify and pursue new or underserved market segments and potential business opportunities
    • Evaluate competitive landscape and strategic partnerships and as part of business strategy
    • Interpret financial statements and create accurate sales forecasts, incorporating budgeting and profitability analysis in proposals.
  • Lead Generation
    • Identify and quantify potential new clients through networking activities, market research and other activities
    • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of qualified business opportunities to help achieve an assigned sales quota
    • Identify and propose new service lines or enhancements that address emerging market needs and differentiate from competitors.
    • Utilize project planning & management methodologies to handle multi-phase client projects.
  • Customer Interactions
    • Craft solutions and proposals that address customer need and highlight company value propositions
    • Develop and then maintain strong customer relationships which foster long-term and expanding business opportunities
    • Lead deal and contract negotiation to secure favorable terms and close meaningful and profitable business
  • Performance Management and Reporting
    • Track key business development metrics
    • Analyze relevant sales data to identify areas for improvement and adjust sales strategies accordingly
    • Maintain a reliable account of activities and opportunities in company CRM platform
    • Provide an accurate sales forecast as required based on your sales funnel and opportunities in various sales stages
    • Participate in sales meetings and training opportunities
    • Work with and support peers across different departments in achieving holistic company success.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in applicable field of study
  • 5+ years of professional working experience in sales, marketing or business development
  • Deep understanding of consultative selling practices in a Business-to-Business (B2B) environments
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and closing new business opportunities with new customers
  • Familiarity with sales processes, including lead qualification, proposal development and closing techniques
  • Experience utilizing a Customer Relationships Management (CRM) solution to manage pipeline, optimize sales productivity and increase customer satisfaction
