Overview

The JK Moving SkillBridge Program gives Active-Duty military members who will soon transition into civilian life a chance to gain valuable work experience through specific industry training and development. JK Moving is proud to be an authorized SkillBridge organization through the Department of Defense, bridging the skills of Service members to their new civilian careers.

 

Coordinates the planning and implementation of local dispatch activities; vehicle scheduling, allocation; communicates with staff in accordance with established policies and objectives to affect economic utilization of vehicles, drivers, and operations for household goods (HHGs) delivery and service.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a team-oriented work environment and maintain positive relationships with crew, customers, sales coordinators, warehouse, and sales staff.
  • Coordinate local dispatch activities with the local dispatch team.
  • Comprehensive schedule planning based on available resources.
  • Upholding policies, programs, and procedures for local dispatch operations, including schedules, rates, proper uniform standards, routes, assignment of drivers and vehicles, and other HHGs operational activities.
  • Submits recommendations for development of, and compliance with, transportation policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensures compliance to agreements and contracts entered into by the company.
  • Manages schedules of available agents, contractors and/or vehicles for local HHGs supporting service needs.
  • Works directly with the Safety & Compliance department and driver fleet to ensure compliance, adherence to regulations, permit requirements, licensing and driver qualification.
  • Assigns equipment and crew leader (driver) and/or vehicles.
  • Collaborates with Operations Team and Trainer to monitor the proficiency of the crews and recommends process improvements and training solutions to enhance the service to the client.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, such as revenue and performance records, and seat occupancy patterns to secure information for recommended process improvements.
  • Directs activities of drivers by phone or through electronic transmissions.
  • Monitor activities and adherence by driver fleet of regulatory and company policies, programs, and procedures for local household goods operations, including schedules, route planning and operational support.
  • Monitors all Safety & Compliance communications on fleet performance and compliance and in unison with Operations Management communicates and supports disciplinary action with drivers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Active Duty Member of the United States Armed Forces
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a technical school and six years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret documents and apply; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Must be organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format.
  • Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proven record of leadership role and successful cost management responsibilities in industry related application.
  • Familiarity with current safety guidelines and restrictions.  Plans are developed for trips – ensuring all vehicles are run safely and within DOT guidelines.
  • Strong desire to increase quality and demonstrate a desire for excellence.
  • Collaborative team player.
