Training Lead

Responsible for developing, facilitating and supervising training programs for employees. Assesses the needs of a business, implements training and development plans, and facilitates a wide variety of training programs that enhance the effectiveness of the workforce. The Training Lead must become quickly acclimated to the business operation and decision-making processes and possess a keen interest in producing targeted and tangible results for entry-level to progressed workers within blue collar and other professional disciplines.


  • Identify and assess the training needs of the organization through job analysis, career paths and consultation with managers and key performers.
  • Develop individualized and group training programs that address specific business needs.
  • Oversees training processes, monitoring training methods and giving feedback relative to areas that need to be improved.
  • Develop training manuals that reflect clear, user-friendly dialogue, account for role playing or simulated practical application, testing criteria, and auditable focus on outcomes.
  • Communicating career-path opportunities with staff members and new recruits as appropriate.
  • Implement effective and purposeful training methods.
  • Effectively adhere to established training budgets, spanning multiple business areas.
  • Preparing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs for employees at various levels.
  • Plans and designs team and individual courses, overseeing the maintenance of records of curriculum and materials, and gathering data on the quality of training from trainees, managers, and instructors.
  • Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting business needs and improving performance while assessing and measuring the results and effects of training.
  • Assess employees’ skills, performance and productivity to identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members, business unit trainers and management.
  • Create a curriculum to facilitate strategic training based on organizational goals and established career pathing.
  • Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training.
  • Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, manage and deliver training.
  • Keep up on training trends, developments and best practices.
  • Work closely with Safety & Compliance to ensure safe work practices.
  • Provides recommendations to managers relative to individuals with the ability to occupy higher roles of accountability.
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively with various departments to facilitate training efficiently and effectively on products, services, and how roles and tasks impact overall organizational success.


  • Bachelors’ degree in education or related training or field experience (essential).
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in training & development management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills (Spanish skills a plus).
  • Ability and experience training subject matter experts to facilitate and deliver training to others.
  • Track record of developing and executing successful training programs.
  • Operations, logistics, and/or transportation training a plus.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinker with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related business and learning communication tools.
  • Versatile with traditional and contemporary training processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Creative mindset for working with adult learners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and training blueprint mindset.
  • Innovative, strong decision-maker with an outstanding aptitude for building high performing employees.
